Steve Stewart received his Masters degree in Public Policy from FSU, and went on to work with the Office of Public Counsel – the office responsible for representing consumers before the Florida Public Service Commission.
While at the Office of Public Counsel, Steve participated in major electric rate cases and provided testimony on behalf of the consumers of Florida before the Florida Public Service Commission. He also represented consumers’ interests by accompanying Public Service Commissioners on various regulated utility site visits.
After leaving the Office of Public Counsel in 1994, and following a one-year stint as a consultant for the Florida Telephone Association, Steve began working in the private sector. In 1999, he started his own business, a real estate marketing company, and in 2006, he bought a company in Tallahassee focused on commercial marketing and printing. Today he runs that business.
He is also the founder of TallahasseeReports.com, an investigative news website reporting on local government activity.
Steve Stewart has been a frequent guest on The Morning Show with Preston Scott for many years and you can hear him weekly on WFLA as he brings you the exclusive Tallahassee and Leon County news that affects your life.
Local candidates who have declared their intention to run for office in 2014 filed their latest financial activity reports with the Leon County Supervisor of Elections earlier this month. The reports filed to date cover all contributions and expenditures through September 30, 2013.
In an exclusive analysis, Tallahassee Reports has compiled two tables based on contribution data for three City of Tallahassee Commission races and two Leon County Commission races. To date, only the incumbents have filed to run. Challenger have until June of 2014 to enter any of the races.
