Governor Rick Scott Florida's top elected official has been busy going over bills passed by lawmakers during the session. His pen signals passage or defeat. Of late, plenty of measures designed to help business have gotten his signature.

Fred Varn, Leon County Commission candidate Mr. Varn is running for Commissioner Akin Akinyemi's seat as one of two at-large commissioners. The field is robust. Mr. Varn will try to generate some good will by working year one, if elected, and donating his pay to various scholarship funds to help students.
