COT: Full speed ahead  At Wednesday's meeting Commissioners made it clear that the opinion of focus groups, student government, business associations, and citizens do not matter.  They and their staff planners know what's best for us all.  Tennessee Street narrowing is on.  Did we mention that there's an election this Fall?

Did JCI celebrate too soon?  Everyone thought that Jefferson Correctional Institution had been spared from possible closure.  It seems no one consulted the Florida Senate.  However, it appears that the Senate has figured out a solution.  So, back to celebrating in Jefferson County...we think.

State drug testing update  The idea seems to have the lives of a cat.  Who knows what will happen.

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson...astronaut, farmer  Perhaps there's a subplot in the works for "Astronaut Farmer, II" somewhere in the story.  It's about how a Democrat U.S. Senator pays only the tax legally due on his property, not a penny more, and how the media seems to ignore the statement though Mitt Romney (a Republican) said the same and was spanked.

Caylee's bill moves on, but changed  The idea was to require parents and guardians to notify law enforcement if a child goes missing within twnety-four hours (at least that was the idea).  Timeframes are no longer the in the bill.

More on cops who speed  The Sun-Sentinal keeps the pressure on law enforcement by rolling out incidents that paint some members of the law in a very boorish light.

More on Obama's speech, budget  The staff of TMS is just trying to help sharpen your apologetic for the upcoming campaign for the White House some intel that cuts through the Presidential rhetoric (some call it B.S.). 

Obama budget director slips up  When testifying before a House sub-committee the guy, in essence, tore apart the White House defense for ObamaCare.  Timely. 

Bath salt ban bill  It is a conundrum...though we continue to try it is difficult to outlaw stupidity.  However, is there a difference when kids are involved or not?

Heart Attack Grill  That's the name of the place and its Las Vegas location actually had one customer suffer a cardiac arrest.  It some odd, twisted way the story is funny.  BTW: Those weighing 350 lbs or more eat free.
