The Florida State Supreme Court has ruled 4-to-3 (some report 5-to-2) to uphold the changes made to the state retirement system.  The public employee pension program was changed by lawmakers to require workers to contribute 3% of their own money.  The finding overturns a lower court ruling by Judge Virginia Fulford.  The court ruled that as long as previously earned benefits were not altered changes could be made by the Florida legislature.  One of the chief opponents of the change, Matt Puckett of the Florida PBA did not like the ruling, but called it "well reasoned".

Friday at 7:37 AM Preston will visit with one of the supporters of the pensions changes, Mark Wilson, President of the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
