The Guests

Bill Wilson, Americans for Limited Government, 8:08 AM  As the cliff draws closer a strange feeling comes over the nation.  Meanwhile, all hell breaks loose in Michigan as the state goes "right-to-work".  We'll cover a wide range of issues.

Rob Bluey, Heritage Foundation, 8:37 AM  As U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint bails on the Senate to take the reigns at Heritage Foundation, we'll talk macro strategy with a key blogger and digital master at Heritage.

The Stories

Michigan goes "Right-to-Work"  In the cradle of organized labor, first citizens and now, the state legislature sends a crippling blow to unions.  This is a HUGE development.

Wounded Warrior Project: Anti-gun  Who knew?  The group has had no problem taking money from fund raisers that use shooting as the main vehicle for raising cash.  Of course, in the fine tradition of political correctness the WWP supports the 2nd Amendment, but...

FAMU on probation  The accreditation body, SACS, has place the university on a one year probation for various misdeeds.  During that time, the school will remain accredited.  Whew!

Migration resumes  Americans are zeroing in on Florida, once again.  And New Yorkers are moving here more than any other state.  Gee...wonder why?

County looking at "arts' funding  As heard Tuesday on TMS, some big tax dollar decisions will be made during a workship by County Commissioners.  We'll see what is decided.

Florida Senate takes TMS idea state-wide  It was recommended to Senate President Don Gaetz to make it easier for citizens to offer input on the future of ObamaCare in Florida and to allow folks to know more about the committees involved and when they meet.  It would seem the Senator liked the idea.

Politico shapes poll results to fit agenda  There's the poll.  And, the way that the Politico wants you to interpret the poll.  Sickening and funny; all at once.

76% say, "Cut government spending"  That is a pretty strong number.  Too bad it seems completely lost on the men and women in office.  Broken down 59% say, "across the board" while another 17% say they "somewhat" favor cuts.

Crist changes party  We know what you are thinking, "No way!"  Yes, it's true.  Former GOP Florida Governor Charlie Crist has become a Democrat.  Good luck, Charlie, we're not sure the state Dems really want you, though.

Where the jobs are/aren't  Imagine this...in the last five months, 73% of the civilian jobs created were...wait for it...government jobs.  This from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, businesses (many big) keep shedding jobs.

Chicago teachers union exec attends Marxist conference  Sure, a teacher has a right to attend conferences, but at what point do we, the public, not want to hire instructors who are avowed Marxists/Communists in our public schools.

ObamaCare state exchanges: reasons to say, "No!'  The Cato Institute offer an analysis of why Florida ought to sit it out.  Oh, and HHS Secretary Sebelius has awarded a major data services contract (a key to the whole thing) to a "friend".  Convenient.
