The Guests

Jacob Eaton, City Commission candidate, 8:08 AM  A few months ago, Mr. Eaton asked a question or two regarding the improper campaign actions taken by the Leon County Democratic Executive Committee.  Some party officials did not like his questions.  It escalated into a mess and Mr. Eaton was eventually exonerated.  Now, he wants to have more of a say on local issues and will take on Commissioner Andrew Gillum for Seat 2.  Click Here

Bill Edmonds, Local cyclist  Mr. Edmonds is involved with a local effort to ramp up awareness of and participation in biking to work, shopping, etc.  Knowing Preston's predisposition on the subject, this could be fun.  Click Here

The Stories

Crime numbers for state, locally  The numbers are a little down and a little up depending on which category you are talking.

Do you know about Amendment 8?  You will vote on it come November and deciding which way to vote will probably be very, very diffcult.  Do NOT let the title fool you one way or the other.  It's pretty complicated.

State Supreme Court allows expanded slots  the folks in Gretna are happy campers as the Florida High Court found no problems with adding slot machines in the state.

Florida neighborhoods crumbling  The rising tide of foreclosures is causing formerly good places to live to become, well, something very different.

Eating vs. cells in cars  Texting was NOT in the study, but the results on eating while driving versus about anything else are pretty stunning.  Enjoy and hand me that order of fries.

Justice Dept. takes on Jacksonville  The first coast city is in trouble because it is alleged the city engages in racial discrimination against blacks by using a written exam to help determine readiness for supervisor status.

What Obama supports  The guy is the keynote speaker at a conference where students and teacher-sponsors were attending a National High School Journalism Conference.  He was supposed to talk about bullying.  Instead the guest speaker went on a profanity filled tirade about Christians (there were plenty in attendance who walked out) and his chosen lifetyle of homosexuality.  Yes, the President is a financial contributor to this guy.  Click Here

Former SNL member after President, again  Jon Lovitz may not be known to you by name, but you would likely recognize his face.  He has unleashed another attack on Obama (this from a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat).  Imagine what he is accusing the President of...lying.  Where, oh where, have we heard that before.  Click Here
