“Summer of Love” Food Drive to Benefit Emergency Food Pantry

Elder Care Services, Inc. (ECS) announces its community-wide Summer of Love food drive June 27-September 22 to support efforts to replenish its Emergency Food Pantryto eliminate hunger amongst elders in the Tallahassee area.

During the food drive, the community is encouraged to drop off non-perishable items such as canned goods - soup, meats and fruit, dry food, pasta, cereals, potatoes, rice, oatmeal, ensure, peanut butter and even personal care items at bins located at the ECS headquarters, ECS Elder Day Stay, as well as, other participating donation sites.

ECS’ Food Pantry is available to Leon County residents, 60 years of age or older, who have insufficient food items available to effectively meet their basic nutritional needs.  The pantry items are disbursed without charge and based on availability to qualified individuals.

ECS constantly experiences needs for pantry item donations as a result of an unprecedented high demand for these necessary food items.  Please “share the love” this summer with elders in need by donating desired items.  All donations made to ECS’ pantry are tax deductible.

For more information regarding the Summer of Love Food Drive or to find a participating location, call (850) 921-5554 or visit www.ecsbigbend.org.
